Guitarist Zoltan Bathory shares, “We haven’t been in Europe lately so it was a pleasant surprise to find out that we have a massive fan base there too… In the end that means Europe can expect to see us coming ‘back for more’ this winter and in 2014.”

On June 29 the band will return to North America co-headlining the 2013 Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival alongside Rob Zombie over the summer and is scheduled for a Canadian headline tour to take place in the fall. For full tour itinerary go to: www.fivefingerdeathpunch.com/tour/.

Five Finger Death Punch has released three consecutive RIAA gold certified albums through Prospect Park for sales exceeding 500,000 copies. The success of The Way of The Fist (2007), War Is The Answer (2009) and American Capitalist (2011), which debuted at number 3 on the Billboard charts in October 2011, exhibits the band as one of the few in the rock genre to consistently see significant sales both digitally and physically. The band’s ten consecutive Top 10 radio hits – including 2012′s #1 hit “Coming Down – have spawned cumulative single sales of over 4.2 million. Going back to 2008’s “The Bleeding”, Five Finger Death Punch has consistently been one of the most heavily played bands at rock radio.

LULLWATER ANNOUNCE RELEASE DATE OF SEPTEMBER 17 FOR SELF-TITLED ALBUM CUT AT SEATTLE’S LONDON BRIDGE STUDIOS

Lullwater-Album-Cover

Self-Release Via Dinobird Records Exhibits Athens, GA Independent Music Scene is Alive And Well

Athens, GA — Lullwater will release a self-titled album independently through the quartet’s Dinobird Records on September 17. The band will stage a home town show in Athens to coincide with the street week on the 21st at Caledonia Lounge. Lullwater’s full itinerary will be announced in the coming weeks.

There are a million bands in the universe of popular music who yearn for a career that becomes the foundation for an emergence of a community. They speak with the conviction of passion, honesty, drive, and perseverance. Most exhibit behavior that defines hard work to their core. Yet, the vast majority come and go leaving small localized followings in their wake. Some broaden their reach establishing regional footholds. And then there are those that through integrity, diligence and what is nothing more than a pure connection with those they encounter, that reach the heights of developing a national presence. With Lullwater, the band’s raw, thought provoking rock has placed them on that cusp of garnering that elusive coast to coast notoriety.

In 2007, John Strickland (Lead Vocals / Rhythm Guitar), Brett Strickland (Lead Guitar), Roy “Ray” Beatty (Bass) and Joe Wilson (Drums) met through mutual friends in the fertile Athens, GA music scene. They emerged with a shared conviction in their quest from sweaty jam sessions in a dark, grungy, damp basement on Lullwater Street, and from there began to build an audience one fan at a time. It took years of working through repertoire, and fine tuning a vision. Culling audience reaction at hundreds of shows and personal instinct, they threw their rich, diverse musical roots in a blender, and from the mix came a combined musical discovery. The missing link was capturing their live energy on to tape.

With clear vision, they committed their resources, and literally uprooted their entire lives. The band relocated to the Northwestern U.S. in December, 2011. After getting their feet on the ground, they entered London Bridge Studios. Brett Strickland shares, “They’re adamant about recording on tape, which was perfect for us. We wanted the music to be as raw and natural as possible. It was all us. You hear every nuance of the performances because we were playing live together.” The historical rooms where Pearl Jam’s Ten and Soundgarden’s Louder Than Love were created delivered a creative revelation for the band. With Producer Jonathan Plum at the helm, everything they sought to achieve became a realized vision. Singer John Strickland reminisces, “My whole childhood was Nineties rock. For me growing up in Georgia, the Seattle scene was like a mythological place where all of these amazing musicians came out of. I told the guys we needed to go there to record. We aimed to bring Athens to Seattle, and being there definitely changed us. It brought us a lot closer together, and we found the sound we’d always wanted.”

The hypnotic, heavy melodies of the godfathers of grunge who immortalized the Pacific Northwestern scene left an indelible mark on music. The influence continues to impact recordings today, and with Lullwater that influence is clear. It is the convergence of this inspiration, with a healthy helping of bluesy Southern swagger, that delivers an individual sound. The band strives to create a movement of change and originality with the fans in an effort to bring sense of community back to music lovers that are dispirited with the state of what is deemed popular in Rock music today. With LULLWATER, they might just provide that lightning rod that inspires wide congregations of disparate tastes to unite for the simple love of inspired music.

Lullwater has released “Tug of War” and “Blind” from the self-titled offering thus far, and the fan base spoke loudly with love for the first taste of what’s to come. Their personable, approachable and outgoing personalities are the backbone of this strong bond that is deep with the audience. With a realized vision in hand, and the abundance of musicianship, creativity and artistic expression, they just might yield that arrival in to the national spotlight they’ve persevered for. Inevitably, as lead guitarist Brett Strickland shares, “We want people to relate to the songs and connect to them. If they get something emotional from the music, we succeeded.” John Strickland adds, “I simply want all we encounter to feel something. I hope the album rocks people’s faces off, and it makes them feel more alive in the process. We are in this for the long haul, and with every passing month’s experiences I know that we are connecting. That my friends is simply inspiring.”

MAIDEN TO FINISH OFF THEIR EUROPEAN TOUR BACK HOME IN LONDON AT THE 02 ARENA – SATURDAY 3RD AUGUST 2013

 LAW-041113-MAIDEN-v02

Bruce Dickinson announced tonight to 90,000 fans at Download Festival, Donington Park, that Maiden will round off the current 30 date European leg of their MAIDEN ENGLAND WORLD TOUR in London, with a show at the O2 Arena on Saturday 3rd August.

Comments Bruce “We’ve all been having such a fantastic time on this tour. From the very first show in North America last year to the European dates we’ve done so far, it’s just been tremendous fun. Our fans have been brilliant as usual, and seem to be loving the set-list and the stage production! So we thought that because this tour has been such an amazing experience for band and fans alike, it somehow seems right to finish up back home in England and have the final show celebration on home-turf. The O2 is a great venue to play with a really fantastic vibe, so we’re really looking forward to this show being one almighty party!”

Iron Maiden wish to ensure that fans get fair and proper access to tickets and do not pay over the actual ticket price by way of touts or the Secondary Ticketing Agencies and therefore this concert will be totally Ticketless (Paperless) Ticketing using the latest Technology.

Ticketless (Paperless) Ticketing means fans will not receive a physical concert ticket for their entry into the event. Buying paperless helps ensure fans have secure and convenient access to event tickets at the intended original sale price. On the day of show, concert goers just need to bring the credit card they used for the ticket purchase and a government-issued photo ID to the concert. All members of the ticket purchaser’s party must be present at the same time to enter the venue. The venue’s ticket usher will swipe their credit card upon entry and present each person in their party with seat locator slips for quick access into the show.

Andy Copping – Senior Vice President of Music, Live Nation UK comments; “Maiden, their Management Phantom Music, the O2 and my team at Live Nation have really tried to ensure that fans can buy tickets at a fair and agreed price for the forthcoming UK show at the O2 by utilising Ticketless (Paperless) Ticketing technology throughout the whole venue. The aim is to ensure fair access for true fans and to eradicate ticket tout issues and inflated secondary market prices that can also lead to a reduction of the number of obtainable tickets at the on sale not being available to fans”

Maiden Manager Rod Smallwood adds; “We are all very pleased to round off this part of the tour back home to celebrate and it promises to be a great night. We used Ticketless (Paperless) Ticketing on our North American Tours in 2010 and 2012 and it worked extremely well and we received many positive comments back from our fans. With Ticketless (Paperless) Ticketing, only those who actually pay initially for the tickets will get into the show so scalping is generally avoided. We are also doing everything we can to avoid any drain of tickets going to the Secondary Ticketing sites which we feel make unfair profits from music fans and often lessen the number of tickets available to real fans, especially at the on sale.”

“Finally, we are of course once again arranging exclusive ticket pre-sales for our fan club members so they can be quick off the mark for great tickets. We will also continue to run the draw for fan club members so they can be ‘First To The Barrier’ prior to the show. We hope that these measures will help our fans as much as possible and ask that they keep checking for details on our website.”

Following the O2 the band take a short break before playing North America, then Latin American Stadiums and the Rock in Rio Festival in September, and will finish the tour off with a return to the Estadio Nacional in Chile on 2nd October. For full dates, check the tour page.

Tickets go on general sale Friday June 28th from www.theo2.co.uk & www.axs.com . There will be an Iron Maiden Fan Club presale – Monday 24th and Tuesday 25th June. Details will be on the website soon. Fan Club members will also be eligible in the draw to be First To The Barrier.

Show Review: Queensryche Tuesday June 11th at Brews Brothers West in Luzerne PA.

b2

Queensryche featuring Geoff Tate, Rudy Sarzo, Brian Tichy filling in for Simon Wright, Robert Sarzo, Kelly Gray, and Randy Gane performed Tuesday June 11th at Brews Brothers West in Luzerne PA. Support for the show came from Cause Of Affliction and Skin and Bones.

Any real fan of Queensryche or anyone that follows what goes on in the world or Rock/Metal knows or at least they should know what has been going on with the band Queensryche. With that being said there is a ton of trash being said about both camps and I feel like it is expected of me to write and talk trash about Geoff Tate and his current lineup.

b4

I can’t do that because the band that performed the other night played the songs better than I heard them in years. Queensryche performed “Operation Mindcrime” in its entirety and the encore itself was almost the length of another set.

The band was tight, they were cohesive and they looked like they had a lot of fun being there. The band didn’t look like six guys working, they looked like a band and sounded like one too. I know some may say “who cares we seen Mindcrime already” yeah so have I a bunch of times as well, but this time it was raw, energetic and the songs had a lot of power behind them. And it really did seem as if Geoff Tate had some kind of new found passion for the songs.

gt7

I have seen Queensryche play great, I have seen them play as if the songs were phoned in, but I have never seen the songs performed as well as I seen them preformed the other night. It was the best I have ever seen Geoff Tate. People can talk all the trash they want but one thing is certain the man has pipes and they still work if not better than they have in the past.

r2

Prior to the show I was bummed to find out that Simon Wright was off the tour for a few days but I was also happy to see Brian Tichy filling in for him on drums. I have never seen him live and he nailed it.

And what can be said about Rudy Sarzo he is only one of the best bassist on the planet and an ever better showman. If there is any bassist that can steal a show it’s Rudy. Robert Sarzo and Kelly Gray were perfect on guitar and Randy Gane did a great job on the Keys.

qr1

Again I know some out there may think I have picked sides or I am a fan boy but the truth is the truth and I know for sure some of the same shit talkers are the same people in the front row singing their hearts out or at a meet n great getting a photo or having something signed. And this just does not go for Geoff Tate, I am sure it’s the same for a lot of other bands as well. People talk trash just for the shake of doing so. If you love the music that Queensryche has put out in the past go see this line up of the band you will not be disappointed.
