3 PILL MORNING
Friday July 23rd. The band 3 Pill Morning played to a packed Eleanor Rigby’s Night Club in Jermyn PA.opening for the band Framing Hanley. Matt Burke (Drums), Kyle Glidden (Bass) laid the foundation for what was to be a killer eight song set. And when Ryan Walch (guitar) started the intro to Rage Against The Machine’s “Guerilla Radio” the place went crazy. The band is rounded out by Singer Jeff Stebbins. With his high energy performance and the pipes to go with it he had the front row holding on to his every word. These guys put on a great show. Check the bands website for tour dates.

I interviewed the band earlier in the day. Read On:
RN: How’s the tour going?
Jeff Stebbins: It’s been great. We have been out for about three weeks now on the Framing Hanley Tour. And before this we did a few dates with Papa Roach and have of been all over the country playing shows. It’s been going really well for us.
Kyle Glidden: Tonight we will be playing two new songs showing people what the new album is going to be like.
RN: What kind of reaction has your new songs been getting from your fans that are familiar with you older stuff?
Jeff Stebbins: That’s why we wanted to get out and play some markets that we are familiar with and see what the reaction would be. We started this tour in the mid west and we broke out a couple of those new tracks and people have been really responsive to the new music. That’s what we are looking for. We want that feedback of a live show. They seem to be excited. And that gets us excited too.
RN: How would you describe the sound of the new CD?
Kyle Glidden: Radio rock with a heavy edge.
RN: I noticed on you website your back catalog is not listed is there a reason for that?
Jeff Stebbins: I would say over the last three years is when we really established our sound. It’s changed a lot. The band has been together since 2003. And it was very different back then. We are writing songs that we want to be writing now. The back catalog is what it was. And this is what 3 Pill Morning is now.
RN: How many songs do you have written for the new CD?
Jeff Stebbins: We have about fifteen to twenty songs. But now we have to go through the next level of pre- production and start to look at every aspect of the song and see what ends up on the album.
RN: What are some of the inspirations behind the new music that you are writing?
Jeff Stebbins: Past stuff we have written has been relationship based and things like that. The new music is just life in general. Things we have seen on the road, things we have been through.
RN: What musicians influenced you guys to start playing?
Matt Burke: I have been drumming for about eleven years. I seen E.L.P. with my dad in the 90’s I saw Karl Palmer do a drum solo I thought it was the most amazing thing in the world. And it just started from there. My dad was a drummer. So there was a drum set always accessible. And it just kind of went from there.
Kyle Glidden: I have been playing bass for about ten years and the big ones for me was Mudvyne’s L.D.50 and Tool’s Lateralus. Those albums are the last two that I heard that changed something in my head. Justin Chancellor and Ryan Martinie are huge influences on me. Another band is Project 86.
Ryan Walch: When I was a kid a friend of mine gave me a Guns N Roses CD. I heard Slash and that’s when I started playing guitar. Zakk Wylde is a huge influence. I have been playing piano since I was six years old. But after I heard that first Guns N Roses album that was pretty much it.
