Show Review: Hinder, Saving Abel, My Darkest Days and DEFAULT
Saturday December 11th The Crocodile Rock Café was sold out for the Hinder, Saving Abel, My Darkest Days and DEFAULT show. Clearly the room was filled with Hinder and Saving Abel fans alike. New comers My Darkest Days had a good reception and the veterans on the bill, DEFAULT did a good job as well. In support of their new CD “COMESANDGOES” DEFAULT is the opening act for this tour package.
After Default’s set I had a chance to ask Bassist Dave Benedict a few questions
RN: How is the tour going for you guys?
Dave Benedict: It’s going good. It feels good to be back out. It’s always good touring with people you get along with. Being so far from home you want to be able to hang out with people you like. The other bands on the tour are really good to watch on stage and hang out with.
RN: If I’m not mistaken you guys have been sitting on your CD “COMESANDGOES” for 3 years. You wanted to have this CD released in the fall of 2007. What happen?
Dave Benedict: Our record label went bankrupt. And due to legalities we sat in limbo with a record that we could do nothing with. We are just happy to have it released.
RN: Since this CD was recorded 3 years ago. Do you guys have more material written for another CD?
Dave Benedict: I would like to say yes but I am not going to say no either.

I also spoke with the guys from My Darkest Days before they took the stage.
RN: Chad Kroeger (Nickleback) co wrote a lot of the songs on your CD. How Much influence did he have over the song writing process?
Matt Walsh: A lot. He is a great song writer. We would come up with something and take it to him. And he would give us his input.
RN: Why did you guys do the song Porn Star Dancing twice? Once with Zakk Wylde and with Ludacris?
Sal Costa: That way we can go how ever we wanted to go with it. We can take it to different radio formats. We can go Pop radio we can go Rock radio. It just gives us more options with the song.
RN: Why did you guys decide to cover the Duran Duran song Come Undone? Was that a label decision or was that your decision?
Matt Walsh: Growing up there are songs that you hear so much you just get tired of. Come Undone is a song that we never got tired of. To this day it’s still a great song. That’s why we did it.
RN: How do you see, the American audience receiving you guys?
Brendan McMillan: Our American fans have treated us well. The CD is being well received. People seem to like it. And live, people in the audience seem to in joy it.
