I spoke with Drummer Rob Rise about their progress in the studio and about their up coming show.
ROB RISE: The first week of March. For now the single will be only a digital release.
RN: What is the song “Guilty Need” about?
ROB RISE: Guilty Need speaks about the violence on animals, massive livestock farming, etc etc…well we think that to understand this problem you will need to see it from the point of view of a tortured animal.
RN: Can you tell us the name of the album yet?
ROB RISE: The title will be “BEFORE THE END OF THE WORLD”
RN: That sounds pretty deep.
ROB RISE: We do not speak of “flowers”, we speak about bad things, real things…but this only to “shock” the listener and push him/her to think about. For example, if a song talks about the cruelty of war, we think that a bullet in the head is the best way to understand HOW bad is a conflict, we use this approach for many things.
RN: Are you looking forward to playing out after being in the studio for so long?
ROB RISE: We can’t wait to get on stage to kick some ass. It’s been a while.
RN: Are you planning to do more shows before your album is finished?
ROB RISE: Yes. To test the new sound live and see how the fans react to it.
RN: What is the Metal scene like in Italy?
ROB RISE: Italy has no true rock scene. Only the underground scene is alive-and-kicking! It is very difficult for upcoming bands find the way to the top. So it is very hard for Italian metal bands to emerge…surely there is a concrete fan base in Italy but surely it isn’t wide as in the other European countries.
