Detroit, Michigan’s own Pistol Day Parade blasted through Jim Thorpe PA while on tour as direct support for Ted Nugent. The band added to their growing fan base by throwing down some real rock tunes as well as a fantastic version of In The Air Tonight by Phil Collins.
Ted’s crowd was very receptive. I was surprised to see Ted’s crowd take to a newer act as well as they did. Some times a new band does not get a fair shake opening for big names but in this case P.D.P. did just fine gaining the crowds respect and getting them to sing along to their songs.
I spoke with the band before their set this is what they had to say about the tour:
Guitarist – Rob Banks: So far it’s going great. We have been going to each city and winning over the crowd with our music. We have been getting some radio attention and we have been building momentum and we want to keep it rolling.
Vocalist – Fuller: Ted Nugent’s crew has been amazing to us along the way. They have really helped us have good, tight quality shows every night. It’s been second to none working with them. The advice that they have given us is priceless.
If I had to pick a few stand out songs I would say the songs, Where I Lay, because that’s when I started to hear the crowd chatter about how good they were. Their cover of In The Air Tonight, this was at the midway point of their set and everyone knew the song, it was a great way to keep everyone’s attention and keep them into it. The song High just rocked. Everyone knows or has known someone like this at one point or another in their lives. And the closer, their latest single, Rockstar’s Girlfriend. Should you check out Pistol Day Parade? I say HELL YEAH
