On the heels of well-received reissues of their 2006 debut “Siberia” and 2014 EP “Metanoia,” the Tucson-based sludge trio NORTH will soon unveil their first new material to be released with Prosthetic Records – the two-track “digital 7-inch” “Through Raven’s Eyes.” The new single, the cover art for which can be seen above, is scheduled for release on Aug. 14, the night before the band kicks off a 26-date headlining trek across the U.S. that includes a series of shows with post-instrumentallists Set and Setting. Further details will be revealed in the coming weeks on “Through Raven’s Eyes,” but for now, listen to a brief sample of the new material via the below video or directly on YouTube HERE.

Described as “a wall of crushing, psychedelia-tinged post-Neur-Isis mania” (Decibel), NORTH earlier this year announced their signing with Prosthetic, who recently reissued the band’s 2006’s debut “Siberia” and their most recent 2014 effort “Metanoia.” The two releases were offered together as a single 12-track CD featuring reversible artwork, as well as individual limited-editon, hand-screened and hand-numbered colored vinyl. Limited copies remain available for sale HERE.

The trio, consisting of vocalist/bassist Evan Leek, guitarist Matthew Mutterperl and drummer Zack Hansen, held true to their consistent touring agenda by recently completing a successful summer headlining jaunt featuring support from Secrets of the Sky and Cold Blue Mountain. Previously, NORTH have entertained audiences opening for acts including Deafheaven, Intronaut, Pelican, Neurosis, Red Fang, Rosetta, Adai, Weedeater, This Will Destroy You, Caspian, Cough, He Whose Ox Is Gored, Alcest, Vattnet Viskar, Subrosa and more.

As mentioned previously, NORTH will continue to carve out a name for themselves amongst the underground metal scene as they embark on another headlining ravage this fall.
