MORE THAN MUSIC

After considering a lot of different options I have decided to ad a new page “More Than Music“. The idea of this page came about after talking with people and getting to know people that I wanted to interview but did not really know how it would go over considering this is a site dedicated to original music. This page gives us the ability to be more diverse and speak with people outside of the music world. Although music is and always will be my favorite form of art, it is not the only form of art. I have no … Continue reading MORE THAN MUSIC

INTERVIEW: BLACKMASS MAFIA – TALKS CD, TOURING AND DRUMMER SEARCH

INTERVIEW: BLACKMASS MAFIA – TALKS CD, TOURING AND DRUMMER SEARCH This past weekend I had the opportunity to hang out with Blackmass Mafia at their studio hidden deep in the backwoods of up state Pennsylvania. Upon arriving I had no expectations other than a very raw demo that contained three songs I received about a month ago. While hanging out, throwing back a few White Mountain Dew’s (which tastes like green Mountain Dew by the way)  I asked if they made any progress with their CD and to my surprise they played what is pretty much the finished version of … Continue reading INTERVIEW: BLACKMASS MAFIA – TALKS CD, TOURING AND DRUMMER SEARCH

Razer CD REVIEW & INTERVIEW W / Chris Catero

Razer CD REVIEW & INTERVIEW W / Chris Catero RAZER Dark Devotion Expanded Edition Release Date – July 19th, 2011 Razer Is: Chris Powers – Lead Vocals Chris Catero – Bass, Backing Vocals Jeromy Graves – Guitar Paul Sullivan – Guitar Eric Bongiorno – Drums, Backing Vocals All I can say is WOW. Razer mixes old school metal and the new rock vibe with ease. There is a ton if different musical influences running through this CD. With sixteen songs there is a lot to take in. With that being said I think sixteen songs might be too many to … Continue reading Razer CD REVIEW & INTERVIEW W / Chris Catero

EMPHATIC – DAMAGE CD REVIEW

EMPHATIC – DAMAGE RELEASE DATE 7-12-11 Atlantic Records Producer: Howard Benson    OMAHA Nebraska’s Emphatic will release their Debut album Damage through Atlantic Records July 12th. At times Damage sounds Nickelback-esque with a much heavier edge. Most of the lyrical content is about sex, partying and having a good time. The CD for the most part is up beat with the exception of a few ballads. I think “Put Down The Drink” has to be the best ballad on the disc and one of the best ballads I have heard in a while. The CD if full of killer melodies … Continue reading EMPHATIC – DAMAGE CD REVIEW

ANCHORED SHOW REVIEW & INTERVIEW NYC Irving Plaza 6-4-11

ANCHORED SHOW REVIEW & INTERVIEW NYC Irving Plaza 6-4-11         ANCHORED played Irving Plaza Saturday June 4th as part of the Uranium Tour Featuring Black Label Society, Rev Theory and Hourcast. Considering the circumstances they were handed, I would say they did a kick ass job and made a lot of new fans along the way. First let me say, for the first three bands lighting was terrible, the sound was muddy and the bands had no room on the stage to move. That didn’t stop Anchored from “Getting Dirty In New York“. You never hear a band acknowledge … Continue reading ANCHORED SHOW REVIEW & INTERVIEW NYC Irving Plaza 6-4-11

ZO2 SHOW REVIEW & INTERVIEW PHILADELPHIA PA 6/3/11

FOR PICTURES OF THE SHOW CLICK HERE ZO2 played North Star Bar Friday June 3erd. Support coming from The Better Half and Phantasm. ZO2 played songs from all three of their CD’s as well as two new songs ‘Heart Of  Confusion’ and ‘That’s What’s Up’ that are only available for download at this time. From the time the band took the stage to the end, the crowd didn’t stop moving. ZO2’s brand of Rock N Roll far surpasses the bands they grew up admiring. In my opinion they are one of 2 newer bands that do it the right way. … Continue reading ZO2 SHOW REVIEW & INTERVIEW PHILADELPHIA PA 6/3/11

Mickey Finn: Former Jetboy Current Cold Blue Rebels Frontman Interviewed

Mickey Finn: Former Jetboy Current Cold Blue Rebels Frontman Interviewed     After I read this press release on Blabbermouth “JETBOY Singer Quits, Says Band Should Change Its Name” I thought I should give Mickey a buzz to clear the air and find out what was going on. I thought the headline Blabbermouth put on the story was slanted just to make people click. I have noticed they do that a lot. Read On: RN: I interviewed Billy shortly after M3. He seemed excited that a label in Europe was going to re-release the Jetboy CD Damned Nation. He was working … Continue reading Mickey Finn: Former Jetboy Current Cold Blue Rebels Frontman Interviewed
